What I would tell my younger self.

Every day, more or less, I think back to when I was at school and wonder what I would tell my younger self to smooth over some of my rough days over that last couple of years.  Truth be told, I'm not sure I would change much if I knew what it would be like now, back then, but hey it's a light hearted thing to think over from time to time.

Don't cut your hair! Back to when I had long hair, I decided I'd look much more adult if I chopped it all off. Lest to say, It didn't much, and in a matter of months regretted the decision. Long hair is better hair.

You're always going to look young, but it does comes in handy - You might find it tiring looking 16, but in the end its rather refreshing and complementary at 21 to be still considered a child. Ends up less costly too!

Not everyone is going to like you - Everyone wants to be liked and like everyone. Truth is you either end up wearing a fake smile around those you dislike or bowing down to those who dislike you. Don't worry about it, there are plenty of other people out there that will like you for you.

Spots happen to everyone- You might have it worse than some, but better than others. In the end, everyone gets them, you're not the only one. Puberty isn't pretty.

Stop with the natural collection - Its not good for anyone, including those who have to look at the patchy foundation trying to cover your blemishes.

Read books!- I love books, and I don't understand why I never read more whilst at school! Reading makes your writing stronger so who knows how much better I'd be if i'd just read a little more.

Keep up the swimming- I was an avist swimmer back in the day, unfortunatly I didn't see it too cool to keep it up. Maybe just maybe, I'd be wearing an olympic gold medal if I'd kept it up.

Get off Bebo- Lets just say thank god they deleted all old accounts; those pictures were unsightly!! P.s, those people in you're best friends list, you won't talk to half of them after prom.

Stop worrying about guys....I would hardly say I've had my fair share over the last couple of years, but I would say, 'Charlotte, you're going to run into some right muppets in a couple of years, but don't worry, they're not around for long'.

What do you think? Got any of your own? I'd love to know, so why not comment.

  3. I love reading posts like this, if I could give my younger self some advice it would be to make sure foundation was always blended properly (the tide mark is never a good look!) & to not worry about the bullies and the people who got me down as things would get much better :)
